So many things I loved about this wedding, but above all was the incredibly sweet couple, Lesli and Richard. They live in California, but chose to marry in Holland, Michigan where Lesli is originally from. I met them last winter at JP’s coffee shop, and felt like we could have talked for hours. I’m so glad we were able to meet in person at least once before their big day, so on the morning of their wedding, when I arrived at the salon, I felt totally at ease seeing a familiar face. Lesli made a gorgeous bride and Richard looked so handsome – and I don’t believe I ever saw him not smiling! They are a great pair, and I’m extremely happy they chose me to photograph their wedding day.
I had an incredible assistant – Brennigan Burnett of [bg photography studios] throughout the day. Brennigan, I already told you this, but thank you, thank you, thank you! For so many fabulous photos (and everything else)! It was wonderful to work with you!
On an added note – doesn’t it seem like every wedding blog post I do gets bigger and bigger?! Well, this one is no exception… photo overload! Believe me, I even had to leave out a lot of great blog-worthy images, but I wanted to share my favorite favorites, just in time for the couple to return from their honeymoon in Fiji! Congratulations again, Lesli and Richard. I loved your wedding, and I hope you enjoy this preview!

The wedding was at Trinity Reformed Church in Holland, where Lesli’s parents and grandparents were married, on the same date. How’s that for tradition!

Lesli had a “first look” with her dad in the sanctuary… we loved photographing these moments!

Then we headed outside (briefly!) for a First Look with Richard!

The “Ring Bear-er”: a special teddy bear from Lesli’s childhood!

Mother of the Bride’s ’72 Cutlass Supreme! Loved this car!!!

Reception was at the Midtown Center in Holland

I had to grab a photo of this little shutterbug (and he got a photo of me)!

Last slow dance of the evening: Faithfully, by Journey. I’m so glad I stuck around for this moment.

Amanda Bouws - Breath-taking as always Mindy! I’m especially fond of the vertical shot on the bridge! Superb!
Lynell Shooks - Mindy,
These are spectacular, as always. I love the way you capture the emotion of the day, and the details are beautiful – you can tell they spent a lot of time putting this wedding together!
What a fun, yet intimate picture of a beautiful wedding.
Kudos, woman!
