Nicholas and Kaitlyn are 6 and 3 years old, and full of personality! I got to take their photos a couple weeks ago, on a very hot July afternoon! Nicholas and Kaitlyn’s mother is close friends with my cousin, so I have seen photos of these gorgeous kids before, but it was the first time I met them in person. I met up with them at a house where the entire extended family had been staying, and was ushered in to a scene of moms and dads getting ready, getting their kids ready, kids having snacks, playing, watching cartoons, Bob Marley on the stereo… and their grandpa sitting on the steps, casually eating from a bag of Doritos. He offered me some, I met new people, shook their hands, was given a bottle of water… It was just classic, absolutely charming, and fun to have such a candid perspective of someone’s family. I loved meeting them all. You could sense the closeness among siblings and in-laws and kids as they joked with each other. What a fun family for these kids to be a part of, with so many people who love them, and are involved with them. We went out to a gorgeous house in Douglas, which had such beautiful surroundings, it made for a really lovely location. The kids explored the flowers and rocks and waterfall, and then we went over to a fenced area across the street, overlooking Lake Michigan (but trust me, it was way too hot to venture down the steps to the beach!). They are so adorable, and they were very good for me, in spite of the heat! I loved taking their pictures… here are a few of my favorites!
