Hi, thank you for stopping by! My name is Mindy Denning and I created Mindy Leigh Photography back in late 2008. The dreams I have for my business keep growing and changing with time, but the one thing I always come back to is my desire to give something to others that will make them happy. The rest is just details.
I believe it is so important when you are choosing a photographer, that you find someone who you feel a connection with. Custom photography works when you are comfortable enough to be yourself, it is one of the best ways to draw out the images that you are looking for, unique images that tell your story. My photography business has a very personal element to it. I care about who you are, your personality, your interests, and all of those things have an impact on how I work with each individual or couple!
Therefore, it is important for me to share a little bit about myself, so you can get to know me too! When it comes to a face-to-face situation, I will be the most candid, real person… almost to a fault. However, in Internet land, it can be a little intimidating… so here goes!
My days are filled with all the normal wife and mom stuff, and you might find more about my kids Lucy and Henry and my personal life in amongst my blog posts. It’s reality for me, I love it, and I think it’s important to share it. My photography business can only function because of one person in particular: my husband Ron. He is my biggest supporter, he thinks I am great when all I can think about is how to get better. He is a teacher, and his schedule works well with mine. He is also the technical geek (he knows about servers and networks and so forth) and legal form and tax geek, and keeps the behind-the-scenes aspects of the business moving relatively smoothly. I know so many photographers who run the show 100% by themselves, and I admire that. I can’t deny: I could not do it. I’d freak out, or I’d have to stumble through with the help of someone else. I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom, and it’s all I can do to keep up on emails, shooting, editing, blogging, designing, and ordering, while taking care of everything else on my plate. This is a team effort here!
I love all the little things that make someone unique – the random, sometimes trivial aspects of life, as well as the big ideas. I hope this helps give you a glimpse into who I am. I’d love to get to know more about you.
